Launch AGM 13th July 2014

Fifteen residents and homeowners met in the Priory Arms on Sunday 13th July 2014 to launch the Lansdowne Gardens Conservation Area Residents' Association formally. Councillor Alex Bigham gave report of issues of Lambeth Council issues of concern to local residents.

Four members were elected to the committee:
Chairperson: Philip Inglesant
Secretary: Liani Bianchi
Treasurer: Ben Linton
Street Representatives: Lansdowne Gardens - Susan Aubrey-Cound

But - we need more street reps so please consider standing!
There are also several local residents who volunteered for active roles but without membership of the committee.

We will be holding at least two meetings each year - an AGM around May and a mid-term meeting in November.

So there will be a meeting in November, more informal but with an opportunity to discuss issues and some socialising too.

Minutes of the July meeting are attached here.

Draft constitution

Looking forward to next Sunday's meeting.

One of the items is to discuss and, we hope, ratify the constitution of the Association. This will enable us to do things such as open a bank account, pay incidental expenses, and perhaps receive small local grants.

This is attached here.

It would be very helpful if people can read this before the meeting so that we can have a good focussed discussion. I have already sent round a draft by email and have had some comments, for which I thank those who have made suggestions.

Best regards,

Philip Inglesant
Acting chair, Lansdowne Gardens Conservation Area Residents' Association

New Association

The inaugural meeting of the Lansdowne Gardens Conservation Area Residents Association (LGCARA) was held on Sunday 27th April at the Lost Theatre on Wandsworth Road.

A group of residents agreed to form an interim committee to move forward the formation of the association.

This blog is a quick suggestion as to how we might communicate news from the association - members will be able to join the blog and receive updates, and it will of course archive any content provided.

Just a suggestion, and partly to test the blogger software.
